Our story
Ascencious began with a simple realization: real growth is easier when we don’t have to find our way alone. It took years of digging to find the guidance, tools, and people that make real growth possible. And even after finding them, too many of us were still exploring it all alone. So we gathered it under one roof.
Ascencious is a digital wellness center built around community. A place to connect, share, and grow alongside others. Around that community, we’ve built tools to support your individual journey: the Meditation Builder for creating a practice uniquely your own, R.I.S.E. sound healings for deeper inner exploration, teachings and courses for continued growth, and self-discovery tools to help you better understand yourself and the world.
Ascencious grew from two very different paths that kept arriving at the same place. Josh spent years searching outward for ideas, teachers, practices, and people who could help make sense of the questions he was asking. Beth’s path began by going inward through healing, self-forgiveness, channeling, and years of exploring the deeper parts of herself before turning that work outward to help others.
One came to it by searching outward. The other by exploring inward. Ascencious is where those paths meet.
The founders
Two paths, one entrepreneurial and one deeply intuitive, that met and became Ascencious.
Josh Maine
Co-Founder
At Ascencious, our story begins with co-founder Josh, an entrepreneur whose instinct for business started long before he could spell the word. At eight, he was buying candy at the dollar store and reselling it at school. One day his mom came home to find the garage cleaned out, furniture and all. He’d sold it on eBay.
That instinct eventually carried Josh to the University of Florida to study finance, right up until an unproven startup offered him an unpaid position in Connecticut. He was two credits from graduating. So naturally, he dropped out, and a week later he was in Connecticut with little more than an Amex. For six months, he worked 80-hour weeks without a paycheck, betting on a company that hadn’t proven anything yet. Two years later, it was a multimillion-dollar company, and Josh was its owner and CEO.
Josh was not only good at business, he loved it. However, there was a quieter thread running alongside it. When he was seventeen, his mom told him about a study where plants spoken to with love outlived plants that weren’t, and something in him cracked open. He spent the next decade down a rabbit hole of anything metaphysical: energy, consciousness, and eventually channeling, which is what really hooked him. He listened to hundreds of hours of Barbara Marciniak. Then one day his mom told him she knew someone named Beth who channels. Josh has had a session with Beth every month for ten years since. Today, she’s his business partner.
The hard part was that Josh lived those two lives separately. At work, he was the sharp young CEO. At home, he was a lonely twentysomething who believed in things he couldn’t say out loud in a boardroom. He didn’t know a single person he could really talk with about his beliefs.
Then one quiet night in his apartment, an idea arrived almost fully formed: a wellness center for every modality he’d studied. A place where you could learn from the Barbara Marciniaks of the world to the astrologers and channelers and healers. Teachings that took him a decade of digging to find. A place to be around kind, like-minded people who see the world the way you do. A place to heal, to wake up, to raise your consciousness. To ascend.
Within an hour, Josh had the entire idea on his whiteboard, down to where the bathrooms went. The word that came with it was Ascencious.
Today, Ascencious is a digital wellness center, built app-first so it can reach everyone from day one. It brings together Josh’s entrepreneurial experience and the spiritual world he spent years exploring, alongside Beth’s nearly two decades of healing work, channeling, teaching, and intuitive practice. It exists to help people expand their awareness and to make sure they never have to do it alone. A place where healing, awakening, and belonging finally live together.
And one day, the centers Josh drew on that whiteboard will exist in the real world too.
Beth Freeman
Co-Founder · Soul's Purpose Channeler
At Ascencious, our story continues with co-founder Beth Freeman, an author, educator, healer, and Soul’s Purpose Channeler whose own journey of healing and spiritual awakening became a calling to help others find peace, purpose, and a deeper connection to themselves.
After nearly two decades in marketing and ten years in education, Beth’s life took a different path as she began her own profound healing journey. What started as personal work grew into years of exploring channeling, energy healing, self-forgiveness, spirituality, and the connection between our human experiences and the deeper wisdom of the soul. Along the way, Beth discovered her ability to channel, connecting with spirit guides, angels, and light beings to bring through messages of healing, clarity, and purpose.
Today, Beth brings nearly two decades of personal healing work together with her background as an educator, author, speaker, and intuitive energy practitioner. She is the author of Daylight for the Soul, a book of meditations, Forgiveness for the Soul, a book on self-forgiveness, and With Love, The Itty Bitty Calico Kitty, a children’s book about love, loss, and grief. She has taught self-forgiveness and clear channeling, led group and individual healing experiences, and helped others recognize that healing is not so much about becoming someone new as it is about returning to who we truly are.
As co-founder of Ascencious, Beth brings this philosophy into everything we create, including R.I.S.E. (Rapid Integrative Soul Elevation) sound healings, guided meditations, channeling, intuitive energy work, spiritual education, and tools designed to help people reconnect with themselves. At the heart of her work is a simple belief:
We are here to heal from what has hurt us, learn to truly love ourselves, discover and develop our own unique gifts, and use those gifts in ways that serve others.
For Beth, Ascencious is the natural evolution of a journey that began with her own healing and grew into a life devoted to helping others find their peace and their purpose. A place where healing, self-awareness, spiritual connection, and purpose come together so each of us can rise into a more peaceful, whole, and authentic version of ourselves.
